DAY ONE OF LIBERTYVILLE DAYS
The morning started out quite dreary with threats of hail producing, tornado threatening storms. I waited at home until 9:30 when the tornado warnings had been lifted. My mom and I set out to go to the site and see how it was going. We got there and about ten tents were arlready set up but they had sides on the tents so once I checked in and saw my space I headed to Wal Mart and got some sides for the tent (best investment of the weekend) When we came out of the store the sky looked great so we headed back over. We managed to get the tent and sides up before the next storm came through. As I was unloading and bringing the stuff to the tent it began to downpour again. I will say we had the best location at the event. We were just off of the street so unloading was no problem and we are under a huge tree so we get the most shade. The other vendors have complained about how hot it is in their tents but we have such a great breeze by us, thank the Lord. So we had to unpack everything tetris style within the enclosed tent but we managed to do it in about two hours. We had a few hours of sunny, breezy weather and sold quite a bit of Sandy Candy. When I found out that more storms were headed our way we decided to pack up early. We had everything packed up and loading it into the car when once again it was pouring (and I was not even dry from the morning downpour) again. This time the tornado alarm was ringing in Libertyville so we packed up our last few things and lowered the tent. We got out just in time!!!! We shall see how tomorrow goes but the weather seems like it will cooperate with us. One of the families that I used to nanny for at night stopped by to support Mission Ethiopia thank you so much it was so great to see all of you!!!!!
