This past weekend (September 19 & 20) I participated in the Wizard of Oz fest in Chesterton, Indiana. They have been having this fest for a long time but for the past three years it was in a different location so the town was very happy to have it back.
Friday night we set up the tent (thank you everyone who helped) and tables. Very early Saturday morning my mom and I went to get organized. The first hour or so we had a few customers and then my mom went to watch the parade (she took all of the parade photos - thank you mom) Once the parade was over (just after 10:30) until 5:30(a half an hour after close) we had non stop customers. It took over two hours to eat lunch (sneaking a bite here and there) We sold out of all of the wands that day and almost all of the necklaces!!! The total made that day was $987.50 - hallelujah!!!
Saturday we did not have to be there as early as the fest opened an hour later. The flow was not as steady but we sold out of necklaces and some of the wands I had made on Saturday night. It also rained so we had to close a bit early but that allowed us to attend the finale. That day we made $329.00 for a total of $1306.50!!!! I was unable to hold a raffle so sold the basket for $50.00 (that is included in the above total.) Mission Ethiopia also received $114.50 in donations!!!!!! God is so good. So the grand total for the weekend was $1431.00. It was a wonderful weekend and I am so greatful to all of the people who supported Mission Ethiopia. God bless you!!!!
