Sunday - this morning we went to church at Beza International, it was fabulous. I felt at home for the first time. Afterwards we were invited to a traditional restaurant with about twenty people. We were all in one small room most of us sat on three legged stools and some of the stools had a circle of wood added to the top to make it a table. None of us ate (due to our continued stomach problems) but we had beverages and great conversation. I then went to the Ghion hotel to meet Kathy. She is from Texas and comes here a few times a year, this time she is here with her daughter and her family as they are moving here in March as missionaries. It was so lovely there. There were so many weddings going on while we sat in the garden to talk we got to witness such amazing Ethiopian culture. Kathy gave me some great advice as well as places to go and things to do while I am here she was such a blessing and a help to me. Thank you Kathy.
I then went home and Chaltu was the only one home and she was watching very loud television ( I have noticed she does this when she is alone, I think since she is from the countryside and just recently came she may be afraid) Maria got home shortly after me and the others got home just before dinner. We gathered around 8:30 in the dining area but Chaltu was still the only one home. We called our director around 9 to have him speak to her and since she does not speak Amharic we were blessed he had someone with him who spoke her language. She said she did not know where the family was but they would be home soon. We then called our host mothers cell number and they were on their way. We figured dinner would be after 10 since she would have to cook so we pulled out our fruit, crackers, peanut butter, whatever we had. They were home in about 10 minutes and dinner was put straight on the table since they made it before they left. So our dinner had sat out for over four hours. I did not eat any of it as I believe cold rice is what started my problem to begin with. We had a lovely hodge podge of a picnic.
