ENTOTO MOUNTAINS

Saturday was a group outing with all of the volunteers from Projects Abroad. We went up into Entoto mountains, it was wonderful. We had a lot of fun and got a lot of wonderful photos. We could see Addis from up there it was beautiful. We walked part of the way down and there were some amazing sites. We could see the ladies and young girls who gather wood and carry it on their backs down the mountain. We would hear the rustle of leaves and turn to see donkeys running toward us down the mountain with their burden on their backs. So many children and so cute. One of the volunteers purchased sugar cane for each of us and some gave theirs to local children. One of the volunteers told them to share and then the boy who took it ran off he did get yelled at but I am still not sure if he ended up sharing or not. We finished our journey down in a shared taxi and did some local shopping and had lunch. We then went our separate ways, Sarah, Louise and I headed to get some sweets for tonight as it is Maria's last night. We met a young boy who had holes in his pants and no shoes. He did not ask for money but bread and juice so we went into the store and got him a bag of bread, a juice box and a packet of cookies, his eyes lite up when he saw the whole bag full.
