I take three shared taxis to and from work so I have gotten very good at this. First of all there really are not stops so you can flag one down about anywhere but you have to make sure they are going where you need to go. The taxi holds 12 passengers, the driver and the boy who really runs the show. His job is to get people to ride his taxi and then collect the money once you are on your way. They usually take on 14 passengers making two people sit on wheel wells. Do not be fooled by an empty taxi, yes you will get your choice of seat but he will not depart until it is full so you could be waiting upwards of 20 minutes. When he is getting near to where you want to get off you say "war och" which means stop. You then walk to your next location and catch the taxi to your next destination. So glad I grew up in Chicago taking public transportation, I just wish they had street signs here.
Another funny thing is that when a lane is closed they put a line of rocks in the road so you use the other lane.
