WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY - WELL MOST OF IT!

This morning I decided to leave early and it was a big mistake. I waited for over an hour for my first shared taxi. When I got off at my next stop I was surprised to see Sarah and Louise a few steps ahead of me (they take the same first taxi but from a different stop) come to find out they waited longer as they had left a few minutes before me, ah Africa!!!

The toddlers were alone in the playroom so as soon as I picked up the ball they all sat down as they had the day before, children are so teachable even when we do not speak the same language. When it was time for their lunch the worker told me she was going to get soup so I moved five of the highchairs in front of a bench so they would not be fed standing and walking around. When she returned they were seated and we were singing she said "nice"

After lunch, Hannah (a volunteer from England) came up to let me know she was ready to do the snow ( I brought insta snow with me to show the children snow) it was so much fun, to watch their faces as the snow grew and then they played with it for a long time (I videoed and photographed) They even began to throw it at each other, how did they know? Later when I was leaving one of the boys came up to me and said "snop" I said "snow" he pointed at me and said "you, snop" and ran off giggling, so I am the "snop lady"

I brought some snow up to show the workers, I asked the nun to translate what I was going to do but as soon as the snow grew she scooped it up and said it was for her Christmas tree, it makes me so angry how greedy some people here are. Later I gave some photos to one of the workers, she had asked me to take some photos and make her copies so I did. When the nun saw them she handed out the photos to the workers if they were in them and kept the ones of the children, I told her I made them for Shavana but she said she does not need them. Well I have since gone and made more copies which I will give her next week!!! I am becoming a sneaky little rebel here.

After all of that one of the toddlers named Maria was having her photo taken at four so sister told the workers to make her hair look nice. So her hair was wet and combed, since this is not a normal occurrence she screamed through it all. About ten minutes later she reappeared and said to make her hair nice so she was pinned down by two workers so her hair could be put into seven braids. I had to leave early it was to much for me to watch all of this.
