My last two days at Kidane were so bitter sweet. There are two staffs so I had to go through my good-byes twice. On Monday the day was going along fine. I brought in cake for the workers as well as their cards full of money. I had to wait until sister went to lunch to give them their cards. They did not open them in front of me but I would loved to have been there when they did. They were full of hugs and kisses for me. When I hugged Maria I started crying, I will miss her a lot. They were so sweet to me as I left. On Tuesday I had the same with me, cake and cards. During naptime one of the workers from the day before arrived and they all had pitched in and got me a traditional dress with scarves to match. I was so touched as this was huge from them. I put the dress on and many photos were taken.
Sister took me down to her office. I was given some gifts and she thanked me for all I did especially for Gabriel. I was speechless as I sat there because I was not expecting any of this from her.
Saying good bye today was harder because it was not just to the workers but also the children. When I laid Gabriel down for the last time I wept. The workers were all crying, we were a mess. I pray that I will see them all again one day soon.
