We have had a lot of rain here lately which usually happens when a volunteer leaves, Ethiopia cries.
When it rains here it really rains!!! Up until a few weeks ago, when the road by Kidane was finished, it was a mudslide over there.
You MUST bring an umbrella if you come to Ethiopia or be prepared to get wet. I usually have my umbrella with me but sometimes I did not carry it and have gotten soaked through. If you are wearing flip flops the backs of your legs will be speckled with mud but a mud bath never hurt anyone :-)
If you put your laundry out in the morning and are out for the day just think of the rain as an extra rinse cycle.
The family I lived with collected rain water which does concern me as the "bottled water" they use to cook our food with may not be what it appears. Numerous times I have caught Tole filling the bottles from the collected water container and wondered how much of my food will be prepared with it.
